SUNGHO JIN 

SENIOR TECHNICAL ADVISOR / ADVANCED MATERIALS RESEARCH

Dr. Sungho Jin is Senior Technical Advisor to Adv Materials Innovations. He was elemental in the development of the Adv Materials Innovations nano imprint technology. Dr. Jin is (now emeritus) Distinguished Professor of Materials Science in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at University of California, San Diego. He is a Lucent Fellow and has contributed to the advancement of science and technology with world-class, trend-setting research, including magnetic, optical, superconducting, electronic packaging, and MEMS materials.

CARL EDWARDS

PRINCIPAL

Mr. Edwards founded Adv Materials Innovations in late 2014 with the mission to provide customers with material science based solutions, for the microelectronics and semiconductor industry. A seasoned professional leader, he has over 25 years of experience in the microelectronics industry, ranging from engineering to executive management. Under Mr. Edwards’ leadership, his teams won and executed twenty DoD SBIR/STTR Phase I and II projects. Mr. Edwards has written a number of technical papers on a variety of electronic and aerospace materials and processes, and is the holder of four patents.

 

CALVIN GARDNER 

TECHNICAL ADVISOR / NANO FABRICATION

Dr. Calvin Gardner is a Technical Advisor to Adv Materials Innovations and while working under Dr. Jin, developed the nano imprint technology for Adv Materials Innovations. He is consulting on the development of new applications for the technology. He brings a wealth of materials knowledge and nano fabrication experience to the organization. His Doctorate is in Engineering Physics.

MICHAEL FEATHERBY 

SENIOR TECHNICAL ADVISOR AND CONSULTANT / METALLURGY, COATINGS AND JOINING

Dr. Michael Featherby is a long-time colleague of Mr. Edwards and has coauthored proposals and developed many technologies. He has a wide range of expertise in problem analysis via ‘hands-on’ experimental design and implementation, including metals, ceramics and glasses and coatings, for the aerospace and electronics industries.
